About NexGaia
A software studio in San José, Costa Rica. We turn a real operational constraint into software that is clear, maintainable, and ready for production — architecture you can defend, not slides you cannot ship.

Alex Ovares
Founder, NexGaia
NexGaia is the company Alex founded in San José. He is a software engineer with more than 20 years in production systems.
His work has spanned automotive (Nissan Germany, through Prodigious), manufacturing (Factora, later PTC), sports and media (PGA Tour and a streaming platform at RivetLogic), public-sector programs (CPAC Canada), advertising technology (Google DoubleClick, through Accenture), and health. He continued at Capgemini after it acquired RivetLogic. Those were employer engagements, not NexGaia clients.
How we got here
From a focused practice to products and client platforms we still ship.
Founded in San José
Alex Ovares founded NexGaia as a focused software practice: custom systems for teams that needed more than a generic product.
Products we still ship
The work expanded into products we design and maintain — NexAcc, NexEdu, and NexWifi — plus interactive clients such as MiniGames.
Specialized platforms
We still take on one-off systems when the constraint is real. Optical Designer Studio, built for Optical, is the clearest example: a production suite around optical infrastructure, not a brochure site.
How we build
Modern TypeScript stacks when we start from a blank page. PHP, jQuery, and MySQL when the operation already runs on them.

Tell us the constraint. We will help you turn it into an architecture you can defend.
